Frank Loef (born 1958) is wellknown and highly respected for 28 years in the music and film industry as a first class
composer and producer.
Innumerable artists / producers & directors have benefited from his extraordinary creative input.

Frank Loef works primarily in the audiovisual field of TV / film and commercials.
He has composed and produced the film music for more than 150 TV-films, movies, documentaries and
commercials.
Frank Loef won the „Rolf-Hans-Müller“ award for best German Film composer in 1994.

As a saxophone & woodwind soloist Frank Loef can be heard on more than 2000 studio recordings for
CDs / records & soundtracks, as well as productions of national & international radio and TV-stations.
Worthy of interest is his creative input as a saxophone soloist on the studio recordings of

His performances and his compositions were honoured with various awards like the„GERMAN PHONO ACADEMY-AWARD“ for his groups „NEW TRACE“ and „JUST FUN“ as well as the „AWARD FOR BEST SOLOIST“.

Frank Loef has performed live in most of the important music festivals in Europe like „Montreux Jazz Festival“,
Donaueschingen „Days of Contemporary Music“, „Berlin Jazz Festival“, „Saalfelden Jazzfestival“ (Austria) and
famous German music TV-shows like „Ohne Filter“ (with Taj Mahal), „ZDF Jazz-Club“, etc.

Frank Loef has been invited by various music universities as a teacher for workshops & seminars.
There he had the opportunity to give back some of his experience as a composer & soloist.


At the age of 7 Frank Loef started his music career with the classical study of the clarinet & the flute.
Despite this tender age he had already performed classical music on stage in concerthalls and won various awards.
When he was 12 years old, he started to compose his first pieces for chamber ensembles.
Because of his extraordinary talent he was allowed to study at the Austrian University of music in Graz/Austria
at the young age of 16.
At the „Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst“ he mainly studied composition, arrangement &
woodwind soloist.

At 19, Frank Loef moved to Munich where he started his professional career as a soloist & composer
for notable artists, live on stage and in recording studios.
In addition to his own personal projects, he was invited for recording sessions & concerts in:
Copenhagen, Los Angeles, Moscow, Vienna, Barcelona, Leningrad, Rio de Janeiro, Amsterdam, Berlin, Milano,
Salzburg, Budapest, Hamburg, Montreux, Venice, Munich, New York, Havanna, etc.
